|   | Burnt Mill Potters |
|   | Karen Amundsen is an accomplished potter who creates one-of-a-kind, wheel thrown pottery with original glazes. Her pieces include bowls, dinner ware, bake ware, serving sets, flower pots, yard art, home accessories, and more. Karen began her foray into crafts as a child with many projects in plastic canvas and cross-stitch. In high school, she worked part-time in a fabric store. While employed there, she learned to sew, including prom dresses, numerous baby blankets, and home accessories. She also enjoyed drafting and architecture. Hence, she continued her education at Drexel University earning a bachelor of science in interior design. After graduation, her love of children drove her to earn a masters and doctorate degrees in education and become a teacher. For a while, children's crafts kept her love of art alive. Then, she took some pottery classes and never stopped throwing, eventually installing a studio in her home. Making more pieces than she could give away, she began selling her creations for the pleasure of making more. Her creations have found homes in seven countries across the globe.
